Tripura to recruit 12000 teachers in this fiscal year
AGARTALA: The Tripura government has decided to recruit 12000 school teachers but ruled out the possibility of seting up a School Service Commission to ensure appointment of quality teachers in the education department.
“We are in the process of recruiting about 12,000 teachers which would be completed by this financial year, but there is no possibility of seting up of any School Service Commission”school education department minister Tapan Chakraborty told media.”
The government has a recruitment guideline framed in 2003 on the basis of which, 70 percent of the vacant posts would be filled up according to requirement and seniority and 30 percent would be according to merit”, he said.
On Tuesday last, leader of the opposition of Tripura assembly Ratan Nath demanded a School Service Commission on the ground that the government was depriving unemployed youths and showing nepotism to candidates who were close to the ruling CPI(M).
