Tripura House adjourned twice over pay panel implementation
AGARTALA: The Tripura Assembly was adjourned twice today after opposition created a din in the House demanding implementation of Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.
As the House assembled, leader of the opposition Ratan Lal Nath (Cong) demanded immediate implementation of the Commission recommendations for state government employees.
Speaker Ramendra Nath said the matter was not scheduled for discussion and that he could not allow a discussion on it. An agitated opposition started shouting and thumping desks, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the House for ten minutes.
When the House reassembled at about 11:30 am, the opposition resumed shouting and some Congress members rushed to the well of the House. The Speaker then adjourned the House again for half an hour.
