Seven months without salary
KOHIMA: The All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) Work-charge Employees Association (ANPWD (R&B& (H) WCEA) has requested the Minister for PWD (R&B) to release the work charge salary, stating that the salary of work charge employees have not been released by the government since December 2008 up to June 2009.
In a letter addressed to the minister, the Association stated, “The employees are facing acute hardship due to non-payment of salaries for the last seven months including backlog salaries. The government had to clear up salaries with immediate effect without further delay as w/c staff had earned small amount of money that could hardly maintain day to day life.”
The Association also expressed its dismay over the competent authority that “as per the state of Nagaland service rules equal pay should be treated to all the government employees whereas w/c employees are step motherly treated.” The letter was signed by the Association’s president, Khrielakuo Mepfuo, vice president Kelhouneio Yhome, and general secretary Kuhoshe Swu.
