Junior Teacher Extension Officer Assam Public Service Commission

Assam Public Service Commission (ASPC) was established on April 1, 1937 by the Government of India. The commission was formed with the provision of the Government of India Act, 1935. The first chairman of the commission was Mr. Kames Hezelett, who was a retired ICS Officer.

India pressing Bangla to open transit routes

GUWAHATI: India has been pressing Bangladesh for allowing reopening of the transit routes through the country and the issue is likely to come up for discussion again during the meeting between Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Nagaland village to see IGNOU community college

KOHIMA: The university has started work for setting up a Centre of Community Education and skills training in the Chuchuiymlang village of Mokokchung district, Nagaland under the Community College Scheme. Required land for the proposed centre, also envisioned as an IGNOU Centre of Excellence, has been allotted to IGNOU free of cost by the villagers under the aegis of Nagaland Gandhi Ashram (NGA).

Central government to pay 90 percent of high school expenses in northeast

AGARTALA : The central government will provide 90 percent of the amount required to enroll and educate high school students in the northeastern states, a minister said here Friday.
