BSNL launches 3G Service in Nagaland

KOHIMA: Telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigal Limited (BSNL) today launched the 3rd Generation of Mobile Communication Service in Nagaland, the second state in the North East after Guwahati. Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Arjun Singh, GM (Mkt), Sauwal GM (FTR), Sarob Gupta (GM (Mob) and JB Ramesh, GM (Nagaland) today said that the 3G Service is twenty times faster than the present 2G Service and the service is enriched with multi-media facilities at the reach of common people.

Nagaland Univ teachers suspend agitation

KOHIMA: After two days of picketing the offices of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar, the Nagaland University Teachers Association (NUTA) and Non Teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) has temporarily suspended the agitation following the submission of a representation to the Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar, who is also the Chief Rector Nagaland University seeking his intervention to the impasses.

Nagaland govt to start joint venture with Korean firm

KOHIMA : The Nagaland Government is all set to enter into a joint venture with the Korea-based Cona International to establish a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Ganesh Nagar in Dimapur.

Officials from Cona International disclosed that the joint venture is likely to start functioning with the construction of modern storage facilities to assist ginger farmers of Nagaland with scientific technology, low cost storage technology and contract strategies to procure the produce after harvest.

Tripura to recruit 12000 teachers in this fiscal year

AGARTALA: The Tripura government has decided to recruit 12000 school teachers but ruled out the possibility of seting up a School Service Commission to ensure appointment of quality teachers in the education department.

“We are in the process of recruiting about 12,000 teachers which would be completed by this financial year, but there is no possibility of seting up of any School Service Commission”school education department minister Tapan Chakraborty told media.”
