Are Mizos One Among The Ten Lost Tribes of Jews?

The Jerusalem Post: The Ten Lost Tribes Challenge was conceived in a collaborative effort by travel and adventure companies Shai Bar Ilan Tours and Eretz Ahavati.

The first such expedition set off for northeast India in mid-November to meet the descendents of the tribe of Manasseh, a group of some 7,000 Kuki-Mizo Indians living in the remote states of Manipur, Mizoram, Assam and Nagaland along the Burmese border.

Chin refugees in India “forced back” to Myanmar

AIZAWL: Up to 100,000 Christian Chin who have fled to India in the past 20 years to escape persecution by Myanmar’s Buddhist military rulers are at risk of being forced back, Human Rights Watch said on Wednesday.

The New York-based rights said local authorities and community organisations in Mizoram frequently targeted Chin migrants, one of the former Burma’s many oppressed ethnic minorities.

IMPHAL: Along with staging a sit-in-protest in front of the gate of TG Higher Secondary School here today, All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers’ Welfare Association has declared it may be constrained to stay away from examination duty of the Board and Council if the Government does not finalise implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission at the earliest possible.
