KOLKATA: With the winds of change blowing strongly, bureaucrats from West Bengal continue to show their keenness in taking up deputation posts with the central government. The latest is chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee’s principal secretary Subes Das, a 1982 batch IAS officer, who has applied for the Tea Board chairman’s post.

GUWAHATI: The central government Tuesday said it is considering the setting up of two new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) in the northeastern region.
