GUWAHATI: The State Government on Tuesday distributed an amount of Rs 19.65 crore to the Assam Cooperative Apex Bank as per the recommendation of the Baidyanathan Committee to revive and strengthen the cooperative banking system.

GUWAHATI: The Birla Corporation Ltd plans to sign a pact with the Assam government in September to set up a one million tonne (mt) cement plant in that state, Birla Corp chairman Harsh V. Lodha said here Tuesday.

‘Everything is in place, we are just waiting for the chief minister to recover fully and resume office,’ Lodha told reporters on the sidelines of an interactive session organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce.
